In February, out of the blue, Joseph received a call from management of a bank
here in Lovell asking if he was interested in relocating back home.
Our first impression was to
dismiss the idea, after all, we were established where we were and weren’t
looking for a change. But, for some reason, the idea sparked a feeling in
Joseph so we talked a lot more about it. At one point, we were talking late
into the night and we determined that no matter which decision we made either
choice was a good one. This was somewhat comforting, but certainly didn’t make
the decision any easier. Without telling me, Joseph decided to take matters
into his own hands. He determined that on a certain day, he would fast, pray,
and go to the temple with the specific purpose of obtaining inspiration about
what to do.
That
morning, he was prompted to call his boss and ask him for his advice. He wasn’t sure what to expect in having this
conversation, but as it turned out, Joel, his boss, was extremely understanding
and encouraging. He told him that he would hate to see Joseph go, but that he
had grown up in a small town in Ohio and completely understood the appeal of
that environment for our kids. Ultimately, he said he would support our family
with whatever decision we made. Later that day at the temple, Joseph received what
he says is the second strongest prompting of his life that moving home to
Lovell was the right thing for our family. He came home and shared this with me
and I cried.
We decided to take the job in Lovell. We had to prepare to sell our home, find a place to live in Lovell, and pack like crazy! First, it was Spring Break in Arizona. We had already decided to go to Las Vegas to meet up with Joseph's parents and Aunt Codee! We had such a great time there eating at Rainforest Cafe, going to Circus Circus, The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, The Coke store, and many more fun things!
After we returned from our vacation, Emily came to say goodbye and hello, I had to say goodbye to my Lil Einsteins preschool classes. That was really sad. They took a chance on me and hired me. I'm so glad that I had that wonderful opportunity to teach there.
